Marrakech Film Festival 2026: getting around by car, 20–28 November

The Marrakech International Film Festival (FIFM) is back for its 23rd edition, from 20 to 28 November 2026. If you plan to go, here is what to know and how to get around without stress.

Updated on 7 November 2026.

The 2026 edition at a glance

  • 76 films from 39 countries, including 10 world premieres, according to the organisers.
  • A jury chaired by Marion Cotillard.
  • Screenings at the Palais des Congrès, the Le Colisée cinema and the Yves Saint Laurent Museum.
  • Public access through a free e-pass for people aged 18 and over, according to the press: check the conditions on the festival's official website before you come.

Why rent a car during the festival?

  • The venues are spread out across the city: a car saves you waiting for a taxi, which are often in high demand in the evening during busy periods.
  • You keep your days free: an excursion in the morning, a film in the evening.
  • November is pleasant in Marrakech, with daytime temperatures around 20 °C: ideal for getting out of town.

Our tips for driving and parking

  • Book your car early: the festival period is very popular.
  • Arrive early for screenings and use a guarded car park rather than circling the streets around the venues.
  • Avoid the centre when screenings end, when traffic is at its heaviest.
  • Ask for delivery to your hotel or riad: we hand over the car on the spot.
  • Check the official programme: times and venues can change.

A typical day around the festival

Head out in the morning to the Agafay desert or the Ourika valley, have lunch on the road, then return to Marrakech in the late afternoon for a screening or an evening in town.
