The route: the A7 motorway

The easiest way is the A7 motorway, which links Marrakech to Agadir across the foothills of the High Atlas. The road is modern and well maintained, with rest areas and petrol stations.

• The motorway is a toll road: have cash or a card ready.
• The mountain scenery is superb, yet the road stays easy to drive.
• Fill up before you leave and respect the limits: speed cameras are common.

What to see in Agadir?

• The main beach and promenade: several kilometres of sand, perfect for a sunset walk.
• The Agadir Oufella kasbah: on the hill, with panoramic views over the bay and the port.
• Souk El Had: one of the biggest markets in the region, for spices, fruit, crafts and souvenirs.
• The marina: waterfront restaurants and cafés.

• Taghazout, a surf village north of Agadir, with its cafés and famous waves;
• Paradise Valley, a valley of palm trees and natural pools inland;
