Car rental prices in Marrakech: how much does it really cost?

How much should you budget to rent a car in Marrakech? The price depends on the car, the length of rental, the season and what's included. Here's a clear guide to compare and avoid bad surprises.

What changes the price

1. Length of rental: the longer you rent, the lower the daily rate (decreasing rates from 2, 5 and 11 days).
2. Season: prices rise during busy periods (end-of-year holidays, summer). Book early for those dates.
3. Gearbox: automatic cars cost a little more and go fast.
4. Cover chosen: Standard included, or options to lower the excess.

Hidden fees to watch out for (elsewhere)

With some companies, the advertised price isn't the final price. Watch out for:

• a deposit blocked on your card (sometimes several hundred euros);
• delivery fees to the airport or hotel;
• limited mileage, with a surcharge beyond it;
• fees for a second driver;
• minimum insurance with a very high excess.
